to get the history out of the way, the east coast of the north american continent was bombed and nuked into oblivion, to the point where the land was literally amputated and left unclaimed for a good two hundred years. in those two hundred years, the war progressed and caused mr. murica to become a full-on dystopian government, and thousands of people fled into the amputated territories to escape the censorship and propaganda, and general overprotective regime which is probably gonna fall down in about another decade anyway. these people start their own micronations, or factions, which compete for the little fertile land and crippled supply of resources, and eventually it's like friggin palestine as mark twain described it, where people sleep with their legs pressed up because if they moved any further they'd have to get their passport. these factions start fighting, and eventually some larger factions gain influence, and the US tries intervening by sending some of their military in, and setting up more propaganda that the place is completely and utterly uninhabitable. in this rp, you'd be one of the settlers, and be a leader/high rank of a faction, and rather than using command mode, you'fd actually roleplay it out as a character, which differs it from kingdoms and whatever.
