Hello, ladies and gentlemen of the Tavern. I'd like to pitch an idea. No, not that other meaning for baseball, I'm putting up an idea and requesting a response according to the question.
Idea: So, I've always felt somewhat bad for the followers in my Skyrim play-through or the NPCs in other games. So I was wondering, what if the player wasn't the main character of the story, but a secondary character that aides the main character throughout the game. The story I came up with is something like this; You are a blacksmith in a large city. Suddenly, you're city is raided by bandits/public-enemy and the main character along with the local guard beat back the bandits/public-enemy and personally saves you from your burning house, which you retreated to when the bandits/public-enemy burst through the gate. He recognizes your resourcefulness as a blacksmith and decides to attempt to recruit you to join him on his adventures. As you owe him your life for saving yours, you accept and you begin to set out on an adventure. Basically, you'll go on quests, help kill monsters, and all of that stuff with the main character.
I don't know, I thought it'd be something interesting, but I'll let you guys decide.
